Thaddeus's Milestones

Ted had start weaning for the first time....I hit start with Rice cereal, since 4mths old can only take this...Initially, he kept spitting out, so I need to place the spoon in his mouth for him to suck from it... By a week time, he's able to swallow some without much help from the spoon...Had thicken the cereal a little bit more, to encourage better swallowing....In due course, he'll be able to eat homemade porridge and fruits puree..
The Bumbo Seat was past down from Melody, now Ted have past 4th months and was able to be put on that chair...But, I think he will out grown it soon as even for now his chubby tights had a hard time fitting in...

Ted's milestones

  • Able to turn to one side
  • Trying to grab everything within sight
  • Slowly able to hold on to teether and put in mouth to chew
  • Found his thump finally and sucking with glee
  • Start recognising strangers
  • Will scream for attention if being left alone or see mummy walk away
  • Able to be spoon fed
  • Still trying to catch his feet with his hands
  • Got first hair cut by mummy dear
  • Refuse to lie down, always want carry
  • Respond to musics
  • Love to watch TV and che che dancing and playing
  • Turn to follow where you go
  • Got startled easily as always engross in own activities

Melody unlucky day

On Sunday, it suppose to be a fun filled day for us since we are invited to Chloe's 4th birthday party...We had fun there but we left early as Mel has ballet performance rehearsal...After which we are going to ye ye house, and shu shu is coming to fetch us...This is when our happy mood had turned to shock!!!
Mel got her forehead hit on the edge of the car door and was bleeding profusely... She was fighting with the che che for the front seat of the car when she tripped and fell and hit head on to the car door..Blood gushed down from the open wound, and drenched half of her face and forehead!!! Nat was screaming away, while I tried my best to stop the bleeding...I was so panic, shaking violently while putting pressure on Mel's open wound...My mind gone blank and I cant think what to do next...Shu shu kept reminding me to stay calm and think where's the nearest 24 hrs clinic, since it's a Sunday...But I just cant think of any with the traumatised Mel in my arms...Luckily a kind uncle suggest the 24 hrs West point hospital nearby...
We were there but the doctor had to refer us to NUH children Emergency. As he think Mel need stitches on the wound, which they are not able to perform for juvenile...But we did calm down abit as the bleeding has stop and Mel is not crying that much already...
At the NUH Children A&E, she was refered to a doctor very fast...I still thought we might have to wait sometime...The doctor, he's a young doc, gave me 3 options,
1. to glue back the wound but still will risk the wound to open up if not care properly.
2. to stitch back, 100% will not rib open, but its painful and she need to be sedated. (which I dun agree to sedate and why traumatise her again if we can have the painless glue)
3. to admit and refer plastic surgery. (Higher cost and its only on the forehead near the hairline, dun need to plastic surgery ba!!)
He suggest 1st choice as luckily the wound was not very deep...But why the 3 choices than??? Want to play safe with kaisu parents in Singapore?? Haiz...
Anyway, the process is abit scary for Mel as she cannot see what is the doctor going to do to her...The cut was on top of her forehead, so she can just feel it...The cleaning part was painful as I think the solution is stinging...Doctor close up the wound with his fingers and apply a transparent liquid on it which is the dermabond that glued up the wound...Its a very fast process but Mel is too afraid and in pain to trust anyone, and was screaming all the way thru...
I was told to look out for any signs from the head injury advice, and how to care on the wound...She dun need to take any medicine orally or to apply...Good!!!
She was than discharged all well and happy without much pain...Thank God for this!!

Thaddeus's nice haircut

As mentioned in my earlier post, Ted was suppose to bald his head at 4 months...After much consideration, we decided to just trim some...Yes, I had mentioned that its a custom to do so, but I am so phobia to see that hard and sharp shaver swipe across that delicate scalp! It makes my heart skip a beat, or several beats!!...
I plan to just trim the side, as the hair is poking into his ear which make him scratch his ear so often....Had decided to do the trimming myself, thought that only for the side it should be quite an easy task.....In fact, it was really tricky with Ted refusing to keep still, risking the sharp end of the scissor poking into him....I have to do it very fast so it is impossible to maintain tidiness....End result, all uneven!!...Well, overall still acceptable...Hee hee...Look out for the handsome Ted above...

Ted's new skill

Woh...Ted have almost mastered how to turn over to one side...I had been telling my maid to be extra careful when changing him on the changing table, as this is what I am expecting!!!...Today, I saw him does this in his playgym...
Ted is almost 4 mths old now, his daddy insisted him to bald his head...But I was giving it a second thoughts, because his hair is so beautiful now, why must cut?? They says these strands of hairs comes out from mummy's vagina, SO its considered inauspicious and was not allowed to step in any temple with them!! So I suggest those with cesarean dun need to cut lor..Haiz..What to do, Chinese culture has to be like that..Anyway both of my girls balded their head at 4 months, so Ted have no exceptional too...

Kung Fu Panda

Angelind msg me on Saturday morning asking me wanna join to watch Kung fu Panda with the kids...Kung Fu Panda?? What show is that, I am asking myself...
Was having this bad cold and was quite restless, but had decided to go since the gals are very bored at home...The cinema was really packed, luckily we managed to get good seats as Angie booked online...
We settled down with popcorns, drinks and ice-creams, waiting happily for the show to start...The cartoon was kind of funny, as laughter was everywhere...Mel as usual ask lots of question, "why the panda know kung fu, why he can jump so high, How come he so fat lay, because he eat alot of noodles, why the shi fu so tiny one, why they all like to eat noodle, blah blah blah..." I was really dumbfounded with her funny thoughts!!!
Natalie and Elynna really enjoyed and was laughing so loudly...Quite a nice entertainment suitable for the whole family, mummies on motherhood forum have very good verdicts on it as well...Catch it if you have not done so....

Fun at Vivo city

These pics are taken when we go for build-a-bear at Vivo city..Mummy have been sick for the past two weeks after Ted..Thus only able to post now.
Actually we intended to go Fidgets after this but was too tired after the horsie ride and play at the pool...Till next time, Fidgets!!

Build-A-Bear

Finally we are here to build a bear...Yippie!!! As we had promised, Nat got to build a bear for her flying colors during mid-year exam...Mel stole some lime lights too...Here we are at the Harbour front Build-A-Bear outlet. The staffs here are really friendly and so helpful.. We had so much fun....Nat had chosen a pink bear with hearts, while Mel's a big ear bunny...There are so many dresses and accessories to chose from. Nat was so spoil for choice that she took so much time in trying out each outfit for her bear before she decided on one.. As for Mel, she had long decided to dress her bunny up as a bride weeks ago, from their website....Both girls had decided on their bears name as well..Nat's pink bear is called Sugar, while Mel's long ear bunny is Mina...After all the stuffing and dressing, a birth certificate was given to the bears as an identification. The whole process is so fun and meaningful, we had all enjoyed, including Daddy and Mummy!!

The stuffing...

The HUG test....

Warming Teddy's heart with a rub and make a wish.....

Putting the heart into bear to give it a life.....

Sewing up now......
Blow and brush to puff up fur.....
Dressing up time.......
Voila!!
Giving the bears an identity....

And here's our Birth Certificate!!!
