On Sunday, it suppose to be a fun filled day for us since we are invited to Chloe's 4th birthday party...We had fun there but we left early as Mel has ballet performance rehearsal...After which we are going to ye ye house, and shu shu is coming to fetch us...This is when our happy mood had turned to shock!!!
Mel got her forehead hit on the edge of the car door and was bleeding profusely... She was fighting with the che che for the front seat of the car when she tripped and fell and hit head on to the car door..Blood gushed down from the open wound, and drenched half of her face and forehead!!! Nat was screaming away, while I tried my best to stop the bleeding...I was so panic, shaking violently while putting pressure on Mel's open wound...My mind gone blank and I cant think what to do next...Shu shu kept reminding me to stay calm and think where's the nearest 24 hrs clinic, since it's a Sunday...But I just cant think of any with the traumatised Mel in my arms...Luckily a kind uncle suggest the 24 hrs West point hospital nearby...
We were there but the doctor had to refer us to NUH children Emergency. As he think Mel need stitches on the wound, which they are not able to perform for juvenile...But we did calm down abit as the bleeding has stop and Mel is not crying that much already...
At the NUH Children A&E, she was refered to a doctor very fast...I still thought we might have to wait sometime...The doctor, he's a young doc, gave me 3 options,
1. to glue back the wound but still will risk the wound to open up if not care properly.
2. to stitch back, 100% will not rib open, but its painful and she need to be sedated. (which I dun agree to sedate and why traumatise her again if we can have the painless glue)
3. to admit and refer plastic surgery. (Higher cost and its only on the forehead near the hairline, dun need to plastic surgery ba!!)
He suggest 1st choice as luckily the wound was not very deep...But why the 3 choices than??? Want to play safe with kaisu parents in Singapore?? Haiz...
Anyway, the process is abit scary for Mel as she cannot see what is the doctor going to do to her...The cut was on top of her forehead, so she can just feel it...The cleaning part was painful as I think the solution is stinging...Doctor close up the wound with his fingers and apply a transparent liquid on it which is the dermabond that glued up the wound...Its a very fast process but Mel is too afraid and in pain to trust anyone, and was screaming all the way thru...
I was told to look out for any signs from the head injury advice, and how to care on the wound...She dun need to take any medicine orally or to apply...Good!!!
She was than discharged all well and happy without much pain...Thank God for this!!
